PRESIDIO, PARCO D'ARTE RESPIRART

Nella mia ricerca la casa è prima di tutto un confine, un argine, un contorno, una pelle. È il corpo, primo spazio nel quale entro in relazione con me stessa; è la casa, nella quale entro in relazione con familiari e non; è l’isola, nella quale entro in relazione con chi la abita; è il mondo, nel quale la relazione si estende al paesaggio, agli animali, ai vegetali, a tutto ciò che vive e non vive. Presidio nasce dentro questa ricerca e porta al centro la relazione come elemento fondante della nostra presenza nel mondo, qualcosa che oggi più che mai necessita di essere custodito, riconosciuto, presidiato. L’opera mette inoltre in dialogo due luoghi lontani segnati da un evento simile. In Sardegna una tempesta ha abbattuto alcune centinaia di alberi nel bosco di Seleni, a Lanusei; sulle Dolomiti la tempesta Vaia ha distrutto migliaia di alberi, trasformando profondamente il paesaggio. Porto così in Val di Fiemme il legno degli alberi caduti a Seleni e con quel legno costruisco Presidio. La materia proveniente da un paesaggio ferito entra così in un altro paesaggio che porta una memoria analoga. I tronchi diventano struttura, casa, limite e presenza: un presidio della relazione fra corpo e spazio, fra esseri umani, fra territori e, più ampiamente, fra tutte le forme del vivente. Presidio è un’opera in legno di leccio, acciaio e ferro. Non presenta vernici né alcun tipo di collante. È un’opera destinata, lentamente, a tornare alla natura senza comprometterne l’equilibrio. Resta installata in RespirArt fino al suo naturale disfacimento.

In my research, the house is first and foremost a boundary, an embankment, an outline, a skin. It is the body, the first space in which I enter into a relationship with myself; it is the house, where I enter into relationships with family members and others; it is the island, where I enter into relation with those who inhabit it; it is the world, where this relationship extends to the landscape, animals, plants, and everything that is living and non-living. Presidio emerges from this research and places relationship at its core as a foundational element of our presence in the world, something that today, more than ever, needs to be protected, acknowledged and preserved. The work also creates a dialogue between two distant places marked by a similar event. In Sardinia, a storm brought down several hundred trees in the Seleni woodland near Lanusei; in the Dolomites, Storm Vaia destroyed thousands of trees, profoundly transforming the landscape. I therefore bring to Val di Fiemme the wood of the trees that fell in Seleni, and with that wood I create Presidio. Material from a wounded landscape thus enters another landscape that carries a similar memory. The trunks become structure, house, boundary and presence: a safeguard for the relationship between body and space, between human beings, between territories and, more broadly, between all forms of life. Presidio is a work made of holm oak wood, steel and iron. It contains no paint or adhesives of any kind. It is a work intended, gradually, to return to nature without compromising its balance. It will remain installed at RespirArt until its natural disintegration.
